Florence J. Reese, 84, of Owatonna, died Monday, October 7, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born August 22, 1929 in Merton Township, Minnesota the daughter of George and Inga (Svenby) Hornstein. Florence attended country school. She was united in marriage to Roger Reese on October 22, 1947, and the couple lived in Owatonna. Florence worked at the Owatonna Canning Company for forty and a half years retiring in March of 1994. Roger died in August of 1994. Florence was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing, dancing, and most of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her two sons Rich (Becki) Reese of Farmington, and Gary (Sue) Reese of Owatonna, four grandchildren Megan (Matt) Harstad, Erin (Justin) Field, Dustin (Mary) Reese, and Scott (Megan) Reese and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters Marian Houglum of Medford, Gladys Thurnau of Owatonna, Dorothy (Glen) Hale of Owatonna, and Alice Simon of Owatonna, and one brother Floyd (Charlene) Hornstein of Owatonna, and a sister in law Carol Hornstein of Owatonna. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Roger, and one brother Harold Hornstein. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday October 11, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday October 11, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Julie Malone officiating.
