Frances T. Mensing, 88, of West Concord, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born March 5, 1919 in Havana Township, Steele Co. Minnesota the daughter of Vincent and Rose (Mottl) Kubat. Frances attended Rice Lake Country School, and later worked as a surgical aide at the Owatonna Hospital. She married Edward Mensing April 19, 1936, and the couple settled on a farm at Dodge Center, moving to the West Concord farm in 1944. Frances was a founding member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in West Concord in March of 1945. She was known to her family as an excellent cook and hostess. Frances was a meticulous homemaker and gardener, and she especially enjoyed her flowers. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and was active in 4-H. Frances is survived by two daughters Darleen Gillard of West Concord, Sharon (John) Pechacek of West Concord, and one son Jerry (Danielle) Mensing of Menominee, WI. Fourteen grandchildren, thirty-four grandchildren, and two great- great grandchildren also survive her. She was preceded in death her husband, five sisters , three brothers, and triplet great granddaughters. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna 1930 Austin Road on Friday from 5-8 PM with a rosary service at 7PM. Visitation will also be at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday March 1, 2008 at 10:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, West Concord with Reverends Kurt Farrell and James Seitz con- celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the church or cemetery.
