Frank Allen Luthe, 84, of Pine River, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at St. Cloud Hospital. He was born January 5, 1934 in Lansing Township, Mower County the son of George and Ressa (Montgomery) Luthe. Frank attended country school in Freeborn County and Mower County before serving in the US Army for just over 3 years. While in the military he married Helma Zorbach at a Military Church in Hanau, Germany. After returning to the states he farmed near his home farm in Lansing until 1964 at which time he began working at the Owatonna Canning Company. After retiring from the canning company the couple moved to Pine River to enjoy their retirement. Frank enjoyed fishing, fixing things or "tinkering," as well as visiting with friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Helma Luthe of Pine River; daughters, Linda (and Larry) Suarez of Pleasant Hill , CA, Jackie (and Jeff) Jannings of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Fay Luthe of Inver Grove Heights; son, Jim (and Terri) Luthe of Owatonna; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Fred (and Ardis) Luthe of Austin, Charlie (and Barb) Luthe of Austin, John (and Carol) Luthe of Marshalltown, IA; sister, Georgia (and John) Vandenover of Austin and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday from 4pm to 7pm and on Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2pm at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
