Galen Paul Wold, 84, of Owatonna, died Monday, February 9, 2009 at Pleasant Manor in Faribault. He was born December 3, 1924 in Minneapolis and raised near Waseca by Otto and Ursula Seewald. He worked on the family farm prior to serving in the US Army from June 1945 - Dec. 1946. He then worked for Culligan from 1959-1986. Galen also worked part time at Wagner's Pool Hall and at the American Legion. Galen married Donna Mae Middaugh May 2, 1964 in Nashua, IA. The couple lived in Owatonna where they raised their family. Galen was a 62 year member of the American Legion and a member of the AmVets. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards with his wife and their friends. Galen was a Minnesota Twins fan and enjoyed automobile racing. He is survived by his sons, Gary (and Evelyn) Wold of Faribault, James Kreeger of Owatonna, Robert Kreeger of San Diego, CA; daughters, Rita (and John) Geerts of New Hampton, IA, Anita Smith of Fort Collins, Rose (and Richard) Randall of Morristown, Gayle Ann Krause of Kalkaska, MI; sister, Violet Radach of Waseca; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; sons, Jesse Vern Kreeger, Allen Wold; brother, Wayne Seewald. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7pm and on Friday from 1-2pm. Funeral services will be held February 13, 2009 at 2:00pm at Michaelson Funeral Home with Intern Pastor Willie Rosin officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna with honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
