Gary Lavern Froehlich, 69, of Owatonna, died Monday, April 8, 2024 at Lakeshore Rehabilitation Center in Waseca.
He was born August 5, 1954 in Austin, Minnesota to Arthur and Donna (Lambert) Froehlich. Gary grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. After high school he joined the United States Army, where he served 3 years in Germany. Upon returning from the service Gary attended Austin Community College and graduated with a welding certificate. He worked various welding jobs in the area before medically retiring in 1999.
Gary was a diehard Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan. In his free time, he liked to cross-stitch, complete crossword puzzles, and drag his son to go ride bike around town. Gary loved his family dearly and his birds and dog, Duke.
He is survived by his wife Diane Froehlich of Owatonna; sons, Joshua Froehlich of Owatonna, Dakota (and Shailyne) Froehlich of Waseca; grandchildren, Brycen, Brooklynn, and Bayleigh; step-grandchildren, Abigal and Asher
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur (and Donna) Froehlich and Baby Froehlich.
There will be a graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna, on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1:30PM. The Steele County Military Unit will be providing military honors.
