George E. Nicolai , 82, of Owatonna, died Monday, March 10, 2008 at Cedarview Care Center. He was born March 9, 1926 in Montevideo, Minnesota the son of Emil and Emilie (Keller) Nicolai. George married Eva Eisenlohr on November 14, 1950. George was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. In 1953 they moved to Owatonna. George worked for 30 plus years for Uber Glove and was a member of the VFW. He also enjoyed softball, fishing, hunting and bowling. George is survived by his wife Eva of Owatonna; son Don ( Kay) Vogt of Owatonna. Four grandchildren; David ( Nancy) Vogt of Brainard, Tom ( Sherrie) Vogt of Owatonna, Leslie ( Wayne) Hedberg of Yuma, Arizona, Karie ( Bob) Seykora of Owatonna. 14 Great grandchildren. 2 Sisters, Margaret Larsen and Marion Harvey both of Maynard, MN. 2 Brothers: Walter Nicolai of Montevideo and William Nicolai of Roseville. George was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a great grand daughter Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 14 at 11 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. The Reverend John Weisenburger will officiate. Burial will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Alzheimer''s Association.
