Obituary

George E. 'Red' Wilday, 86, of Owatonna, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the Owatonna Hospital. He was born December 10, 1925 in Wilton Township, Waseca Co., Minnesota the son of Lawrence and Grace (Leslie) Wilday. George attended country school, and then started farming; he married Marjorie Case December 17, 1946 and continued farming until 1949. George then worked at Gandy Company and later as a machinist at OTC for twenty nine years. Marjorie died October 26, 2010. George was a member of Associated church, enjoyed the outdoors, being with his family, playing softball, bowling, raising horses, rabbits, and going to the cabin. George had a sense of humor that people will never forget. He is survived by his children Sandra Sprung of Owatonna, Cindy (and David) Melby of Owatonna, Jeff Wilday of Brooklyn, NY, five grandchildren Shelly (and Klane) Dushek, Noel Sprung, Tiffany (and Tim) Jenkins, Kain Melby, Eric (and Trish) Melby, Elizabeth (and Brad) Boyum and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Doris (and Don) Molle of Wabasha, and Loretta Linders of Owatonna. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marjorie, two brothers Raymond and David 'Joe', one sister Florence Olson and a great granddaughter Brynn Boyum. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday December 29, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at Associated Church on Friday December 30, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday December 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Associated Church with Reverend Jim Oberg officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Associated Church or the Sterling House of Owatonna. Visitation: 12/29/2011 16:00 12/29/2011 19:00 Service: and one hour prior to the service in the church 12/30/2011 11:00
