Georgene 'Jeanne' V. Arett, 82, of Claremont, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at her home in Aurora Township. She was born September 4, 1930 in Venturia, North Dakota the daughter of Julius and Emma (Pfiefle) Herbold. Her family then moved to West Fargo, North Dakota, where she attended school. She married Mervin Arett on November 11, 1949 in Fargo, North Dakota. Mervin entered the service and they lived in several states before moving to Moorhead. In 1962, they moved to Aurora Township, where they farmed. Jeanne worked side by side with her husband, Mervin on the family farm. Jeanne was an active member of Aurora Lutheran Church. She served on the Board of Education, Ladies Aid, Circle, WELCA, and volunteered many years at the Aurora Lutheran Church fair stand. She was also a member of the Mother''s Club for Country School District #13. Jeanne loved flowers and gardening, fishing, her cats and dogs, and she enjoyed her home. She is survived by her daughter, Gail (and John) Larson of Claremont; her sons, Mark Arett of Claremont, and Bruce (and Shelley) Arett of Byron; nine grandchildren, Julie (and Mike) Spinler, Richard (and Anissa) Larson, Timothy (and Susan) Larson, Jackie Larson (and Andrew Halla), Lisa Larson, Robert (and Michelle) Arett, Beverly (and Richard) Martin, Steven (and Laura) Arett, and Kristie (and Brian) Hahn; thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Royal Herbold of Fargo, ND; two sisters, Marian (and Fred) Kreps of Moorhead, and Shirley Harley of Fargo, ND; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mervin (2002); grandson, William Larson, and great grandson, Colton Arett. Visitation will be at the Arett Family Farm, 7360 SE 81st Street in Aurora Township on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and at Aurora Lutheran Church on Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Aurora Lutheran Church with The Reverend Jonathan Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Lutheran Cemetery in Havana Township. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
