Gerald Jerry A. Ballstadt, age 61, of Owatonna, died of natural causes Monday, July 18, 2016, at his home. He was born May 12, 1955, in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Lowell and Gladys (Enzenhauer) Ballstadt. He attended Owatonna High School and graduated in 1973. He then attended Vo-Tech school in Wadena for a year. Jerry had a number of jobs over the years including working at OMC, GTA and Truth Hardware where he spent most of his working career. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and spending time in the hot tub on his patio. Everyone who knew him will remember seeing him in tie dye clothing, clothing with flames and wearing his fanny pack. He is survived by children, Jason (Michele) Ballstadt of Northfield; Angela (Kirby Peterson) Ballstadt of Owatonna and Catrina (Micheal) Klemmensen of Claremont; significant other, Kim Lewon of Owatonna; brothers, Scott Ballstadt of Owatonna and Ron (Tammy) Ballstadt of Owatonna; grandchildren, Kayla Ballstadt, Taylor Chesney, Dustin Klemmensen, Nathan Ballstadt, Hannah Ballstadt, Jayden Klemmensen and a niece, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Gladys (Enzenauer) Ballstadt and brother, Randall Randy Ballstadt. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, July 22, 2016, with visitation one hour prior all at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna.
