Gerald Wayne Jerry Erickson, 83, of Owatonna, died Friday, October 19, 2018 at Koda Living Community. He was born March 2, 1935 in Baldwin, Wisconsin the son of Fillmore and Anna (Warner) Erickson. Jerry graduated from Baldwin High School in Baldwin, WI. He served in the US Army from 1953-1955. Gerald married Arlene "Pat" Roepke July 5, 1956. Jerry drove truck for various companies including Yellow Freight. He moved his family to Owatonna in 1972 and continued his career with Yellow Freight. During his truck driving career he and his wife owned and operated the Gold Door Bar, The Office Bar, PJ's Pub and Jo Jo's Pub all in Owatonna. He enjoyed traveling; three trips to England, two trips to Ireland, a month long trip to Europe and Russia, seven cruises, many trips to Las Vegas and Cancun. Jerry also enjoyed bowling, playing cards and spending time with his friends. He was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles Club He is survived by his children, Sherrie Dunford (and Bob LaCroix), Jim Erickson, Sr., Jodie Erickson all of Owatonna; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, and two sisters. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm and at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father James Starasinich officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna with Military Honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
