Gerald J. Jim Jorgenson, 71, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Jim was born October 29, 1945 in Albert Lea, Minnesota the son of Frederick and Mildred (Weselow) Jorgenson. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1964. Jim was united in marriage to Roxanne Olson on September 29, 1967 in Hudson, Wisconsin. They lived in Owatonna for a short time before moving to California where Jim worked as an electrical salesman. They returned to Owatonna and made their home on the Olson family acreage. Jim was compassionate, loving, and kindhearted. He loved nature, the outdoors, and animals of all kind. He enjoyed listening to music from the oldies to current pop songs. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiastic and taught his children and grandchildren how to drive. He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Jorgenson of Owatonna; daughters, Kimberly Jorgenson and Machelle Jorgenson both of Owatonna; four grandchildren, Jesse Fette, Cassondra Drivdahl, Bradley Drivdahl, and Hunter Huebbe; three brothers, Melfred (Carolyn) Jorgenson of Owatonna, Wilfred (Jan) Jorgenson of Minneapolis, and Frederick (Marian) Jorgenson of Owatonna; sister-in-law, Kerry Jorgenson of Sun City, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Jorgenson. Family and friends are invited to Jim's Celebration of Life Reception at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A private family graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna prior to the reception. Memorials are preferred to the family.
