Geraldine Selthun, 81, of Claremont, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. She was born May 7, 1926 in, Aurora Twsp., Steele County the daughter of Leo and Emma (Dunker) Kruckeberg. Before her marriage she worked for the phone company in Owatonna, and then married Earl Selthun April 23, 1950. In addition to raising her family, she was proud to be the school cook for several years. She also served as the church secretary, legion auxiliary, fire department auxiliary, and an active member of St. John''s Lutheran Church, Havana Township. He hobbies included cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, and being with her family. She is survived by four children, Terry (Rita) Selthun of Claremont, Susan (Gary) Palmquist of Carver, Steven (Kari) Selthun of Claremont, and Karen (Dan) Schmedding of Mankato. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brother Dick (Lorraine) Kruckeberg of Blooming Prairie, and sister in laws Helen Larson of Owatonna, and Jan (Doug) Sanderson of Cottonwood, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl, sister Betty Ahlers, brother David Kruckeberg, and one infant grandson. Funeral services will be Monday March 10 at 10:30 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church Owatonna 1054 Truman Ave. SE with the Reverend Keith Meyer officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-6 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna 1930 Austin Road, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the St. John''s Lutheran Church cemetery, Havana Township. Memorials are preferred to St. John''s Lutheran Church.
