Glen C. Schnittger, age 84, of Owatonna, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

Glen Charles Schnittger, the son of Theodore and Mildred (Ziemer) Schnittger, was born on June 18, 1938, in Huntington, Iowa. He received his education in Fairmont and worked at Stokley-Van Camp Food. Glen served in the National Guard for three years and then the US Army Reserves. He was married to Caroline Knuth in 1963. Glen worked at Consolidated Foods before going to work for Tony Downs Foods. He worked there for 26 years; from 1971 until 1997. On July 16, 1977, he was married to Joan Walter in Mankato. They made their home in St. James until they moved to Owatonna in 2012. Glen enjoyed golfing, fishing and trips to the casino. They enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and to Europe and also working in the yard together.

He is survived by his wife Joan Schnittger of Owatonna; children Brent (and Kelly) Schnittger of Lakefield, Tina (and Dr. Gregory) Hughes of Rossville, TN; step-children Mark (and Julie) Walter of Loudon, TN, Paul Walter of Houston, TX and Kristin Olmscheid of Minnetonka. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brody Schnittger, Samantha Schnittger (and Ian Wilcox), Danielle Schreader, Joe (and Candice) Walter, April (and Chris) Hurley, Blake Olmscheid, and Callie Olmscheid. He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Mildred, a brother Darwin Schnittger and sister Yvonne Jorgensen.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna. A Prayer Service will be at 2:30 PM and a reception will follow.
