Glenn R. Ohnstad, 51, of Owatonna, died Saturday, October 23, 2010 in an automobile accident in Rice County. He was born June 30, 1959 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Claire and Dorothy (Dusek) Ohnstad. He graduated from Medford High School in 1977, and started working as a carpenter. Later he ran the family dairy farm. Currently, he was a heavy equipment operator and member of the forty niners union. Glenn married Stacy Livingston on July 22, 1988 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. Glenn was an avid collector of toy farm machinery. He enjoyed going to auctions and scrapping metal. He could find a treasure where others only saw trash. Farming, snowmobiling, and being with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren were his passions. He was a member of the Eagles, Elks, and a social member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife Stacy Ohnstad of Owatonna, children Meghan Jacobson, and Mark Jacobson both of Burnsville, Nathan Ohnstad who serves in the United States Marine Corp, grandchildren Hunter Schafer, and Jaycie Jacobson. He is also survived by his mother Dorothy Ohnstad of Owatonna, brothers Bob (Chris)Ohnstad of Owatonna, Daryl Ohnstad of Owatonna, Tom (Kerry) Ohnstad of Owatonna, Craig (Jody) Ohnstad of Faribault, one sister Melanie (Paul) Hoiland of Rockford, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Claire Ohnstad, brother Claire Jr., and sister in law Beth Ohnstad. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 PM and at Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 28, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Dean Smith officiating. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to the donor''s choice.
