Gordon "Gordy" H. Homeier, 68, of Kenyon, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his home in Kenyon surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 7, 1945 in Faribault, Minnesota the son of Harold and Lois (Tatge) Homeier. Gordy graduated from Kenyon High School in 1963, and then served in the United States Navy from 1963-1965. He was united in marriage to Sharon Gerzevske on November 12, 1965 at Moland Lutheran Church. Gordy was in the construction business for thirty years employed as a carpenter. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he served on the property management committee. Gordy was a member of the Kenyon Fire Department for twenty six years, charter member of the Kenyon Color Guard, and a past VFW Commander He is survived by his wife Sharon Homeier of Kenyon, daughter, Brenda (and Todd Lee ) Homeier of Kenyon , daughter in law Connie (Pete Gjerald) Homeier of Farmington and two grandchildren Michael Homeier and Jordyn Homeier. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Terry and brother Wayne. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11 A.M. October 19, 2013 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with The Reverend Luther Mathsen officiating. Visitation will be Friday October 18, 2013 from 3-7 P.M.at Michaelson Funeral Home in Kenyon and one hour prior to the services at church. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery with honors provided by the Kenyon Color Guard. Memorials are preferred to the Kenyon Color Guard or the Kenyon Fire Department.
