Graden "Bud" Merrel Reider, 83, of West Concord, died Friday, October 23, 2009 at Cedarview Care Center. He was born April 12, 1926 near Pine Island the son of Arnold and Esther (Starch) Reider. Graden's family moved to rural West Concord in 1940. He served in the US Army from 1946-48 and began farming in 1948 after returning from his military service. Graden married Jeanette Wille Nov. 8, 1950 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Wheeling Township. The couple farmed together until Graden retired in 1991. After retiring, the couple continued to live in the country near West Concord until his wife preceded him in death in 2006. Graden was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Concord. He served on the Dodge County Zoning Board and he enjoyed dancing and playing cards. He is survived by his daughters, Karen (and Tom) Luxton of Owatonna, Kathy (and Michael) Garvey of Brookfield, WI; son, Keiven (and Jackie) Reider of Owatonna; 5 grandsons; sister-in-law, Darlene Houdek of Owatonna; brother-in-law, Duane Wille of Surprise, AZ. Graden was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanette; 2 infant sons; sister, Bernice Rehling. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in West Concord on Monday from 4pm to 7pm and at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Concord on Tuesday from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Concord with The Reverend Chris Brekke officiating.
