Hans was raised in St. Peter, MN. He proudly served his country for several years in the army. He and Helen lived in Owatonna the past 30 years. For many years, he was an over the road truck driver, which he loved. He also loved his Basset Hounds, NASCAR, the Greenbay Packers, fishing, snowmobiling, gardening, his computer, and riding his road bike, 'Susie.' Hans retired from trucking in 2008. He and Helen, his wife of 28 years, filled their days with projects around the house. He was a wealth of information to his children and grandchildren. His mechanical savvy, among other wonderful traits, will be truly missed. The neighborhood was an extended family, and Hans loved being a part of it. Hans was survived by his wife, Helen; his sister, Barbara Miller, Brooklyn Park, MN; his 8 children, Brian (Diane) Miller, Arana AZ; Brenda Livingood, Phoenix, AZ; Barbara (Bob) Beltran, Phoenix, AZ; Hans C. (Joan) Miller, Eau Claire, WI; Don (Julee) Elstad, Owatonna, MN; Randy (Barbara) Elstad, Tucson, AZ; Ronda Elstad, Duluth, MN; Denise Lange, Phoenix, AZ; and grandchildren Whitney, Jessica, Bryce, Erin, Gunnar, Elizabeth, Emie, Jacob and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. There will be no services. In lieu of sending flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.
