Harlan James Roeker, 70, of Owatonna, died Monday, April 29, 2013 at his home. Harlan was born September 14, 1942 in Waseca, the son of Herman and Marie (Amberg) Roeker. His family moved to Owatonna in 1943 where he made his home. He attended St. Mary''s Grade School and graduated from Owatonna High School. He married Judith Gasner on December 30, 1961. They later divorced. Harlan worked for Ellis Brothers, Protecto and Krause Feed in Hope in his early years. For 29 years he worked for Urban''s Roofing, Heating and Cooling. Harlan''s hobbies included hunting and riding his Harley. He started hunting deer with a bow at the age of 16 and never missed a season after that. He has also hunted bear, fox, antelope, and wild turkeys. Harlan''s best friend was his dog, Keno. Harlan is survived by his mother, Marie Roeker of Owatonna; daughters, Roxanne (Jim) Harriman of Owatonna, Debra Roeker of Owatonna, Ranae Roeker of Owatonna; son, Dale (Barbara) Roeker of Owatonna; sister, Jacqueline (Lloyd) Kaplan of Owatonna; grandchildren, Brian Roeker, Jeff (Brittany) Harriman, Trisha Roeker, Kendra Harriman. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Roeker; and companion, Nona Wing. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna with Father Mike Cronin officiating. Reception will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
