Harold A. Hargefeld, 91, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Traditions I in Owatonna. He was born January 22, 1920 in Claremont, Minnesota the son of Ernest and Laura (Linse) Hargefeld. Harold attended Claremont Schools through 8th grade. He then farmed the family farm for 66 years in Aurora Township. He retired from farming and moved to Blooming Prairie in 1998. In 2005, he moved to Owatonna and in 2006 became one of the first residents of Traditions I. Harold enjoyed photography and reading, especially western novels. He was also known for his kind heartedness and easy going nature. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Maxine Sorenson of Owatonna, Barbara (and Leighton) Nelson of Rochester, Verna Kubat of Blooming Prairie, Curtis Lee of Owatonna, Lorea Van Houdt of Faribault, Ernie (and Kathy) Halvorson of Albert Lea, and Susan (and Bruce) Paulson of Owatonna; great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert, Clarence, and Ervin, two sisters, Helen Lee and Elda Halvorson, and nephew, Clyde Lee. Visitation will be at St. John's Lutheran Church, Havana Township on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM . Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Havana Township with Pastor Warren Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery, Havana Township. Memorials are preferred to St. John''s Lutheran Church, Havana Township or Traditions I.
