Obituary

Our beloved husband and father, Harold S. Johnson, passed away on August 24, 2011 at Traditions of Owatonna. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, daughter Judy Mackay of Owatonna and son Tom (Mary), granddaughters Kryssa (Darren) and Laura and great-granddaughter Tegan, all of Everett, Washington. Harold was born to Harold and Edna Johnson on August 30, 1922 in Bancroft, Iowa. He graduated from Bancroft High School and served in the Army during WWII as an aircraft mechanic in Myrtle Beach, SC. Harold married Betty Nugent in 1951 and together they owned and operated several businesses including two service stations in Clear Lake and Fair Lanes Bowl in Owatonna. Harold and Betty sold Fair Lanes in 1976 and retired to Arcadia, Florida before returning to Owatonna in 2000. There will be a private cremation and interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City. An open house to celebrate Harold's life will be held on Friday, October 14th at the Owatonna Elks Club from 3-5. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice.
