Harold W. Kroll, 94, lifetime resident of Owatonna, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Koda Living Community with his daughters at his side. Harold was born February 25, 1920, in Lemond Township, Minnesota the son of Otto and Martha (Wodrich) Kroll. There he was raised and attended country school. Harold then did carpentry work and farmed. He began a career with in Owatonna working for the Owatonna Public Utilities. While at the Oasis Ballroom in Austin, Harold met Freda Roman and the couple later married on May 7, 1955 in Iowa. They made their home in Owatonna. After his retirement, Harold began working for the Owatonna Park and Rec Department mowing at the area parks. He enjoyed his jobs very much. He took a lot of pride in what he did and continued to work with the Park and Rec until he was in his 80's. The couple later moved into Park Place Assisted Living and in March of 2014, Harold entered Koda Living Community. He enjoyed trips up to Northern Minnesota where he would hunt and fish. Harold had also played in local bands over the years which included Earl Miller, Luverne Wanous, the Red Dots and other bands. In his basement of his home, Harold would dub music in his recording studio. He loved music and it was a big part of his life, but most importantly was the love of his wife and his family. He is survived by his wife Freda Kroll of Owatonna; two daughters, Ellen Bremer of Tombstone, AZ; June (and Ernie) Valdez of Fort Worth, TX; two sons from a previous marriage, Harold Kroll and Steven Kroll; a sister, Evelyn Buelow of Owatonna; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Charlene Sanders (2012); a son-in-law, Gary Bremer (2008); a granddaughter, Karen Robinson; and a brother-in-law, Myron Buelow. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, July 13, 2014, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 14, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with The Reverend Karl Korbel officiating.
