Harold W. Minske, 100, of rural Waseca, died Friday, August 26, 2016 at Traditions Assisted Living in Waterville, Minnesota. He was born June 11, 1916 in Deerfield Township, Steele County, Minnesota, the son of Rudolph and Bertha (Mertins) Minske. He was baptized and confirmed at the Blooming Grove Methodist Church in Waseca County. He attended rural Steele County School until 8th grade. Harold then attended Morristown High School where he graduated in May 1934. Harold married Leona Wolfe on June 2, 1938 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morristown. They lived in Waseca where Harold worked at E.F. Johnsons. In 1947, they bought a farm in Blooming Grove Township, Waseca County where they farmed for many years. Harold was a long time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Owatonna. He enjoyed reading western themed books and driving around in his pickup looking at farm crops. Harold celebrated his 100th birthday with a party and many family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Larry) Spinler of Morristown; three grandchildren, Brad (Tracie) Spinler of Morristown, Katherine (Craig) Jones of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Julie (Darren) Hanusa of Neenah, WI; six great grandchildren, Grant and Ethan Gasner, Addison Hanusa, Kristin (Justin) Krell, Alex and Mikayla Spinler; great great granddaughter, Leah Krell; brother, Christ (Lucy) Minske of Owatonna; sister-in-law, Gen Minske of Faribault. He was preceded in death by his wife of 77 years, Leona Minske; great granddaughter, Marissa Spinler; five brothers. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 29, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Kirk Griebel officiating.
