Harold Graden Moreland, 93, of West Concord, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born December 20, 1916 in Concord Township, Minnesota the son of Grant and Ada (Gardner) Moreland. He was raised and attended country school in Concord Township and later attended school in West Concord. Harold helped on the family farm and was united in marriage to Evelyn Phelps Bennett on November 25, 1944 in St. Paul. They farmed in Concord Township. Harold then worked for Faribault Manufacturing later retiring. Harold enjoyed camping and traveling after retirement. Harold and Evelyn traveled throughout the United States and also to Germany. He could fix just about anything and enjoyed keeping busy in the garage. Mostly though, Harold enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Moreland of West Concord; seven children, Pat (and Ed) Stoltenberg of Denver; Richard Bennett of Dodge Center; Sharon (and Bruce) Norton of Rochester; Janice (and Keith) Applequist of Rochester; Mary (and Steve) Blaisdell of Jackson, NJ; Diane (and Greg) Zelinske of O'Fallon, IL; Merlin (and Cheryl) Moreland of Dodge Center; a son-in-law, Ed Buchanan of Spring Valley; 27 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren; and a special neighbor, Sharril Wheeler of West Concord. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert Bennett, a daughter, Gerry Buchanan, three grandchildren, Jenny Lecy, Robert Bryan Bennett, Robert Byron Bennett, his brother Howard Moreland; his sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Archie Robinson. Visitation will be at Concord Church of Christ on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Concord Church of Christ with the Reverend Tim Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to West Concord Fire Department, Concord Church of Christ, Diabetes Association or donor''s choice. Arrangements by Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord.
