Harold Leroy Troff, 84, of West Concord and Wanamingo, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Zumbrota Health Service from complications of a stroke. He was born July 13, 1928 in Gerled, Iowa the son of Hemme and Frances (Alberts) Troff. He graduated from Ledyard High School in Ledyard, Iowa in 1947. He moved to the West Concord area in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1951 to 1954. He was wounded twice in action and received two purple hearts. He married June French on December 7, 1957 at the First Baptist Church in West Concord. Harold was employed by IBM in Rochester for 29 years, retiring in 1990. In 2000, he moved to Wanamingo. Harold loved to spend time with his family, and he loved going to church every Sunday if his health allowed him. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in West Concord and then the New Life Church in Wanamingo. He served as an elder, taught Sunday school, served on the Missions Committee board, and was an AWANA leader. In later years, Harold was involved in the Wanamingo VFW. He was also president of the Senior Citizen Federation, member of Gideon''s International, and was a driver coordinator and driver for those who were unable to drive themselves to medical appointments. He is survived by his three sons, Wayne (and Wendy) Troff of Rochester, Brian Troff (and Pam Schwartz) of Elk River, and Gary Troff of Wanamingo; four grandchildren, Adam and Matthew Troff of Rochester, and Emily and Alex Troff of Lonsdale; sister, Arlene Beck of Rochelle, Illinois; brother, Dennis (and Carol) Troff of Cambridge; sister-in-law, Evelyn Urch (French) of West Concord; many nieces and nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, June (1998), his parents, one brother, three sisters, and brother and sister in-laws. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at New Life Church, Wanamingo on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 10:30 AM at New Life Church, Wanamingo with Patrick McBride officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord Township.
