Harriet Gertrude Fichten, 97, of Owatonna, died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Koda Living Community. She was born May 21, 1917 in Havana Township, Minnesota the daughter of Edwin and Mary (Jirele) Erno. Harriet graduated from Owatonna High School in 1935. She was married to Syd Klemmer on January 12, 1943, and the couple was later divorced. Harriet worked as clerk of court for Steele County from 1950-1968. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Fichten November 12, 1955 in Northwood, IA. Harriet enjoyed being a homemaker, and traveling and dining out with her husband Kenneth. She was also a member of the Owatonna Country Club, Eagles Auxiliary, Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Elks, and enjoyed bowling. She was also a Gold Star Mother. Harriet and Kenneth spent many hours with their special great niece Melissa Bottke. She is survived by her nieces and nephews Carol Bottke, Nancy Fichten-Rucks, Dan Erno, and Dan Fichten. She is also survived by her special friend Leona Albin. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Syd, husband Kenneth, and three brothers Eddie, Leonard, and Daniel. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday November 19, 2014 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 19, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home.
