Harriet I.S. Grunklee, 87, of Owatonna died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Owatonna Hospital. She was born February 21, 1924 in Aurora Township, Minnesota the, daughter of Herbert and Amanda (Kieselbach) Kruckeberg. Harriet attended District 27 School and St. John''s Lutheran Parochial School. She then married Gilbert Grunklee on September 17, 1943 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Havana Township, where the couple farmed together for many years. Gilbert died in 1986. Harriet was a member of St. John's Lutheran and was very active in helping out at church functions especially in the kitchen. She enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers, gardening, tending to her raspberry bushes and keeping the lawn at the farm immaculate. She is survived by her children Richard (and Joanne) Grunklee of Owatonna, Eileen Upton of Onalaska, WI, Shirley (and Wayne) Alberts of Phoenix, AZ, and Mavis Grunklee of Rochester, MN, eleven grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Benita (and Wayne) Yentsch of Blooming Prairie, and Marcile Johnson of Owatonna. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert, daughter Marilyn Lange, one infant daughter, and two brothers Alvin and Richard Kruckeberg. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday November 21, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at St. John's Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Havana with Pastor Warren Schmidt and Pastor Corey Grunklee co-officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's Havana Cemetery.
