Haven D. Wheeler, 96, of West Concord, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center. He was born February 2, 1916 in Concord Township, Dodge County, Minnesota the son of Lyle and Vera (Mason) Wheeler. He resided in Concord and West Concord his entire life. Haven married Ruth Olson on May 4, 1938. They were married for 67 years and had two sons, Roger and Richard. Haven worked his entire career in construction with his father, Lyle, and brother, Neil. Wheeler Construction built many of the homes, buildings and churches in the area. Haven was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a WWII veteran and a volunteer fireman. He is survived by his son, Roger (and Barbara) Wheeler of Tucson, AZ; daughter-in-law, Janelle Wheeler of Savage; two grandchildren, Natalie (and Mark) Jedlenski of Arden Hills, and Jeff Wheeler of Leland, NC; three great granddaughters, Sydney, Avery, and Hayley; brother, Earl (and Phyllis) Wheeler of Owatonna; sister-in-law, Sharril Wheeler of Concord; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth (2005), son, Richard (1989), brother, Neil, and sister, Dorothy Martin. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Concord on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Concord with The Reverend Chris Brekke officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord Township. The family prefers memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, West Concord Fire Department or donor''s choice.
