Hazel Alma Dale, 89, of Kenyon, Minnesota died Monday, September 22, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. Rochester, Minnesota. Hazel was born October 18, 1918 in Dodge Township, Minnesota the daughter of Knute and Anna (Jarstad) Strandemo. She was raised and attended country school before graduating from Kenyon High School. Following she worked for Twin Cities Ordinance making ammunition for troops during WWII. She was united in marriage to Ervin Dale on October 21, 1944 in Moland Lutheran Church. She worked for Sparstad's Red Owl and for 15 years at the Kenyon Farmers Mercantile and Elevator Company. Hazel also worked for the Kenyon Sunset Home as a bookkeeper for 15 years. Ervin died on July 2, 1999. Hazel enjoyed traveling and baking cookies. She was a devoted wife and cared for Ervin while he was a resident at the Kenyon Sunset Home. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Eileen "Sid" Strandemo of Kenyon and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, her sisters, Alvina Flaten, Grace Luebke and her brothers, Lester, Kenneth and Raymond. Memorials are preferred to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenyon, MN. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Wednesday from 4-7 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 11 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenyon with The Reverend Luther Mathsen officiating. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery.
