Hazel Irene Musgjerd, 93, of Kenyon, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at the Kenyon Sunset Home.
She was born May 9, 1925, near Moland, Minnesota the daughter of Henry and Inga (Flom) Underdahl. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Moland Lutheran Church. She graduated from Kenyon High School in 1943. Following her school, she worked as a bookkeeper at the Moland Creamery. Through mutual friends, she was introduced to Lloyd Musgjerd and the couple was married on October 16, 1948. The couple lived for a short time in Moland, Kenyon and in 1963, settled on a farm in Eidsvold in Holden Township where the raised their daughters.
Hazel was proud to have driven school bus for the Kenyon School District for 38 years. She was a favorite of her riders over the years. She was also proud of her Norwegian heritage and was able to travel to Underdahl, Norway in 1978. Her nickname, Pud, given by her brother, Leonard, followed her through life.
Hazel enjoyed traveling with her daughters, gardening, making candles and was an excellent cookie baker. She has been a faithful member of Holden Lutheran Church since her marriage in 1948.
She is survived by daughters, Judy Heilemann and Gail Musgjerd both of Kenyon; grandsons, Tom (Jordan) Heilemann of Phoenix and Chris (Lauren) Heilemann of Missouri; great granddaughters, Adalynn and Scarlett and brother, Eugene Gene (Haven) Underdahl of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; and three brothers and their spouses, Leonard and Josephine, Ivan and Mildred and Gaylord and Janiece Underdahl
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Kenyon on Saturday, August 25th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at church. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Holden Lutheran with The Reverend Heather Culuris officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
