Hazel S. Neumann, 88, of Owatonna, died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Koda Living Community. Hazel was born December 14, 1924 in Rice County, Minnesota the daughter of William and Eunice (Warner) Bosacker. She grew up in the Waseca and Rice County area. In her younger years she helped out many families with their household duties. She was united in marriage to Eldon Neumann in 1946 at Grace English Church in Waseca. The couple farmed for many years in Deerfield Township. In 1982 the couple moved to Owatonna. Hazel loved to cook and worked at various restaurants throughout her years including Hoff''s Bar, the Sirloin Stockade and the Golden Coral. Her family was very important to her and she loved celebrating the holidays with her family especially Christmas. She took care of a large garden and lots of chickens and ducks. She sold a lot of produce from her garden. Hazel was a 4H leader for Deerfield Get There 4H club. Hazel also volunteered at the Steele County Food Shelf. Her favorite past times were spending time with her grandchildren and going to rummage sales in the summer. She is survived by a son Kim (and Bonnie) Neumann of Medford; three daughters Susan (and Dale) Standke of Morristown; Vickie (and Virgil) Vavra of Owatonna; Lori (and Bill) Stenzel of Owatonna; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a brother Fritz Bosacker of Owatonna and a sister Inez Fluke of Faribault. She was preceded in death by her husband Eldon Neumann (2007); and her parents; five sisters Thelma; Marion; Margie; Daphne; Olive and a brother Kenneth. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Julie Malone officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
