Helen S. Norton was born September 3, 1912 in Minneapolis, MN, to Julia Barbara Williamson and Edward Julius Steen. She joined her heavenly Father for eternity on November 22, 2010 in Connersville, IN., at the age of 98 years. Helen was a graduate of Northwestern Bible College, Minneapolis, MN, and married Paul H. Norton, West Concord, MN on October 22, 1940. They were the parents of three children: Sharon Lee (Robert) Coleman, Connersville, IN; Bruce W. (Sharon) Norton, Rochester, MN; and Don L. (Connie) Norton, Lenexa, KS. Paul and Helen served pastorates in Wisconsin and Ohio before returning to Paul's hometown. In West Concord, Helen served her Lord at the Baptist church as a Sunday School teacher and youth group leader for 30+ years as well as serving elderly members of her community. For many years she made weekly trips to Minneapolis to care for aging parents and eventually cared for both her mother and mother-in-law in her home. Her daughter followed that model by caring for Helen in her home from 1998 to 2006 when Helen moved to Hickory Creek at Connersville. Helen is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Paul, of nearly 54 years and 4 grandchildren: Barbara Coleman, Kathy Coleman McFerron, Michael Coleman and Shad Norton. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, three grandchildren: Bruce W. (Lori) Norton, Jr, Elk River, MN; Mijon (Mike) Larsen, Mantorville, MN; and Seth (Whitnie) Norton, Fairway, KS; and nine great-grandchildren: Scott and Barbara McFerron, Ellie, Graham and Bruce Norton III, Eryn, Jewell (JD) and Nicholas Larsen and Kellan Norton. The family suggests memorials to Campus Crusade for Christ International. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, November 29, 2010 at Faith Community Church in West Concord. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday at Faith Community Church. Private family burial will take place in Claremont Street Cemetery.
