LaVonne Oleson, age 93, of Owatonna died on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Birchwood Cottages.

Helen LaVonne Oleson, the daughter of Ingvald and Lena (Pederson) Christianson, was born on February 24, 1930, in Clark County, South Dakota. She graduated from Henry High School in 1948 and went to work at a bank in Watertown. On April 3, 1951, she was married to Darrell Oleson in Naples, SD. LaVonne continued working at the bank until her priorities shifted to taking care of her family when her first child was born. They moved to Austin, Minnesota in 1957 before making their home in Owatonna in 1964. She was a dedicated home maker and enjoyed all aspects, from cooking and baking to gardening and sewing. LaVonne also enjoyed traveling with Darrell to different locations throughout the US and Canada but her most cherished trip was to Norway with friends Jerry and Denise. After she had raised her children she worked various places including doing demos at HyVee and working at Floor Crafters. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was involved with circle and served as Wedding Coordinator. She also traveled on mission trips to South Dakota.

She is survived by her children Debra (Jurgen) Duhr of Johnson City, NY, Randy Oleson of Owatonna, Lori Markham of Faribault, Tammy (Tom) Harber of Blooming Prairie and Jill (Mark) Holtzworth of Faribault 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Delores O'Neil of Watertown, SD and daughter-in-law Deb Oleson of Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Darrell, son Rick Oleson, twin grandchildren Katy and Christopher, great granddaughter Hope and siblings Ilene Paulsen, Clarice Severson, Jeanette Hansen and Norris Christianson

Visitation will be held Monday, October 30, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM.    A private family interment will be held later in the day at Forest Hill Cemetery.
