Helen M. Pavek, 90, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Owatonna Care Center. Helen Jirele was born May 15, 1920 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Walter and Rose (Schepp) Jirele. Here she was raised and attended school graduating from Owatonna High School. She was united in marriage to Edward Pavek on July 1, 1941 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She worked for Federated Insurance and also for the Owatonna Canning Company. Edward died in September of 2004. Helen enjoyed watching shows like, Bandwagon and Another World. She also enjoyed listening to polka music. Most important though was her family. Helen is survived by two daughters, Carol (Arnie) Kruger of Cottage Grove; Jeanne Olberding of Lake Lillian; a son, Robert (Diane) Pavek of Owatonna; four grandchildren, Chasidy (and Jason) Christiansen, Dawn (and Tim) Gebhard, Kevin Olberding, Jay Pavek; six great grandchildren, Halee Britt, Dillon Britt, Matthew Gebhard, Chelsea Olberding, Cheyenne Olberding and Skylar Olberding. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward (2004), a brother, Edward Jirele (1986) and a son-in-law, Paul Olberding. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, February 11, 2011 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Interment will be held at a later date in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Owatonna.
