Helen V. Wanous, 87, of Faribault, formerly of Owatonna, died Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Pleasant Manor, Faribault. Helen was born April 18, 1927 in Medford, Minnesota the daughter of Edward and Mabel (Townley) Wallace. She was united in marriage to Louis Wanous on April 28, 1942 in Steele County. The couple farmed for many years retiring in 1977. They then moved to Elysian making their home on Lake Francis. Helen and Louis began raising Old English Pugs. She was an avid fisherman and she also enjoyed raising fruits, vegetables and gardening. Louis died November 27, 1995. She is survived by daughter, Jeanette (and Ronald) Wanous-Clarke of Pleasant Hill, CA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Wanous; her parents and a daughter at infancy. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 30, 2014, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Father Brian Sutton officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna.
