Helen Louise Wegner, 100, of Kenyon, died Friday, November 23, 2018, at Kenyon Sunset Home.
She was born February 19, 1918 in Wheeling Township, rural Nerstrand, Minnesota the daughter of Benjamin and Selma (Wolf) Knopf. She graduated from Kenyon High School. She married Emanuel McKibbin and the couple lived in Comfrey, Minnesota where they owned and operated the funeral home. They returned to Kenyon to take over the McKibbin family funeral home and furniture store. Later the funeral home was sold and Helen operated the furniture store, Helen's Fine Furniture. She had excellent taste in furniture and interior design.
Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kenyon which she faithfully attended and supported. She recently purchased new cushions for the church pews. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Kenyon
She enjoyed playing bridge and socializing with her many friends.
She is survived by cousin, David (Rosemary) Myer of Amery, WI and close friend, Connie Barrett of Kenyon
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Selma; first husband, Emanuel McKibbin; brothers, Kenneth and Morris and a sister, Marjorie Lokensgard.
Visitation will be at United Methodist Church - Kenyon on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 10-11am. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the United Methodist Church - Kenyon with Reverend Dana Houck officiating. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery in Kenyon.
Memorials are preferred to United Methodist Church in Kenyon, Kenyon Senior Living or Heartland Hospice.
