Henry L. Roensch, 76, of Faribault, died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Homestead Hospice House.
He was born October 28, 1937 in Otisco Township, Minnesota the son of Henry and Anna (Herbst) Roensch. Henry graduated from OHS in 1957, and started working for the Gandy Company. Henry served in the United States Navy from 1958-1963, and then returned to Owatonna to work at Gandy again. He was united in marriage to Barbara Krohnberg on June 26, 1959; the couple made their home in Owatonna and later moved to French Lake in 1983. Barbara died in 2008, and Henry later moved into Faribault in 2013. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, softball, bird watching, and nature.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Doug) Vogel of Adams, four grandchildren Katie, Heather, Blaire, and Clint, and his soul mate Gloria Pitzner of Faribault. He is also survived by a sister Wendy (Mike) Schroeder of Faribault, and two brothers Alan (Sue) Roensch of Owatonna, and Roger (Pat) Roensch of Princeton, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara, and son Mike.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday May 11, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday May 12, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens Cemetery with honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
