Herbert John Kukuk, 86, of Owatonna, died on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Benedictine Living Community.

He was born October 6, 1936 in Waseca, Minnesota to John and Rose (Krienke) Kukuk. Herb grew up in Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School in 1955. After graduation Herb worked for the Post office as a rural mail carrier before starting Herbs Cleaning Service and working for Cabela's, Owatonna Clinic, Faribault Town Square, and JC Penny's. When there was free time herb liked to go camping at Silver's Resort in Elysian, go fishing, playing cards, and spending copious amount of time with his family. Herb made sure to do everything that he could to provide for his family. He loved celebrating all the holidays and birthdays as family was important to him. The thing he loved doing the most was spending time with his great granddaughter who brought him most joy and got to watch his great grandson grow up.

He is survived by his daughters, Sheila Helms and Lynette Houdek both of Owatonna; granddaughter, Maria Goodpaster (fiancé Brad Olson) of Owatonna; great-grandchildren Christopher and Annabelle Goodpaster.

Herbert was preceded in death by his wife Darlene Kukuk and son, Ronald Kukuk.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Janesville Cemetery in Janesville Minnesota.
