Obituary

HermanBud B. Sahl, 80, of Kenyon, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Kenyon Sunset Home in Kenyon. He was born December 8, 1934 in Kenyon, Minnesota the son of Herman and Emma (Neseth) Sahl. He was a 1952 graduate of Kenyon High School. Bud served in the Army Reserves from Faribault. He married Barbara Mount on May 2, 1959 in Richfield, Minnesota and made their home in Nerstrand. They later divorced. Bud moved to Arizona, New Mexico, and returned to Kenyon in 2009. Bud worked various jobs in the area, including road construction, Nerstrand Elevator, and Owatonna Canning Company. Bud loved the outdoors, spending time chopping wood, and fishing. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed metal detecting and panning. He is survived by his children, Doug (and Patricia) Sahl of Nerstrand, Marla Manley (Mike Kennedy) of Phoenix, AZ, and Cheryl (and Jim) Bischoff of Silver Bay; children's mother, Barbara Sahl of Faribault; nine grandchildren, Stacy, Sandy, Shari, and Sarah Sahl, Jamie Manley, Jason (and Virginia) Manley, Kassie (and Rick) Goodreau, Miranda and Colin Bischoff; three great grandchildren, Serenity and Alexa Manley, and Lila Goodreau; sister, Lois Boe of West Concord. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard Sahl. Visitation will be at Grace Lutheran Church, Nerstrand on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Little Cannon Cemetery, Nerstrand with The Reverend Don Kloster officiating. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
