Hilda P. Hildebrandt, 89, of Kenyon, died Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Kenyon Sunset Home. She was born April 12, 1925 in Cherry Grove Township, Minnesota the daughter of and John and Hilma (Larson) Shelstad. Hilda attended country school in Cherry Grove Township. She married Ted Helgeson on June 12, 1944, and he later died in 1957. Hilda was then united in marriage to Marvin Hildebrandt on May 7, 1960, and he later died in 2001. Hilda was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenyon. She was very involved in doing Norwegian Rosemaling. Hilda enjoyed reading, baking, making Lefse, and gardening. She is survived by four children Betty (Dave) Redfield of Nerstrand, Marcie (Charles) Gaasedelen of Kenyon, Linda Hildebrandt of Kenyon, and Steve (Jenny) Hildebrandt of Cannon Falls, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Juella Shelstad of Minneapolis, Amy Shelstad of Red Wing, and a brother Stanley Shelstad of Zumbrota. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Ted, second husband Marvin, two sisters Mabel Peterson, and Crystal Peterson, brother Gerhard Shelstad, and an infant brother. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Sunday July 13, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at church. Funeral services will be held Monday July 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Wade Reddy officiating. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery in Kenyon.
