Hilton Benoy Vold, 91, of Kenyon, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at District One Hospital in Faribault. He was born June 9, 1926 in Cherry Grove Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota the son of Haaken and Borghild (Schenald) Vold. He grew up on a farm and attended country school through the eighth grade. He served in the United States Army in the Philippines and was honorably discharged on March 23, 1947. On October 10, 1948, he married Audrey Ann Knudsen in Wanamingo. The couple made their home on the family farm where they have lived all of their married life. Along with farming, Hilton worked in construction and manufacturing. He worked from 1970 until his retirement in 1991 at Leggett and Platt in Kenyon and then in Falcon Heights when the company moved. Though he retired, he never quit working. He was always busy doing something. He had the ability to figure out ways to fix nearly anything and could out-work those younger than himself. After his retirement, his work included keeping an immaculate and trimmed yard. His family will always remember him for having gum or a treat in his pocket for the children. Hilton loved his family and was a great role model for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was the greatest grandpa in the world! He is survived by his wife, Audrey Vold of Kenyon; children, Sandra Vold of Kenyon, Lynn Knott of Dundas, Craig (Sandi) Vold of Dundas and Cory (Jen) Vold of Kenyon; grandchildren, Carrie (Keith) Woodman, Cicily Knott (Sean Adams), Chrissy (Gabe) Golden, Nick (Jennah) Vold, Kaitlyn Vold, Alex Vold, Kim (Jerry) Senard, Chad (Jill) Wallaker and Kyle (Kelly) Wallaker; great grandchildren, Landon Vold, Cohen Vold, Luke Wallaker, Ava Wallaker, Malcolm Wallaker, MacKenzie Wallaker and Payton Wallaker; sister, Gladys Gale of Faribault; sister-in-law, Linda Vold of Faribault and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Haaken and Borghild; brothers, Raymond, Arvel, Arlend and LeRoy and brother-in-law, George Gale. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Friday, March 23rd from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held March 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon with Rev. Gary Gilbertson officiating. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery in Old Concord.
