Obituary

Howard Arthur Homeier, 94, of Kenyon, died Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Kenyon Sunset Home. He was born March 1, 1923 in Rice County the son of Henry and Hulda Homeier. Howard served in the US Army in WWII and later in the US Marine Corps. He married Vieno Jackson Feb 3, 1962 in St. Paul. Howard worked at Kenyon Radio & TV, Kenyon Municipal Utilities, and the United States Postal Service. He was a volunteer firefighter and EMT in Kenyon. Howard was active in the community as a member of the American Legion, VFW, Lions Club and Hauge Lutheran Church. Howard enjoyed coin collecting, gardening, his cats, doing handyman work and most of all, helping other people. He is survived by his son, Kim Homeier of Kenyon. He was preceded in death by his wife and 3 brothers. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm and at Hauge Lutheran on Friday from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11am at Hauge Lutheran with The Reverend Gideon Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery in Kenyon.
