Ignatius John Zakrzewski, 66, of Faribault, Minnesota, peacefully passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020. He was surrounded by family. Ignatius or Nick to friends and family, was born June 24, 1953, in Florian, Minnesota, where he was raised. His family moved to Crookston where he graduated from Mount St. Benedict in 1971. He worked for Viking Drywall, Bloomington, Minnesota, for many years and was well respected in his field. Ignatius married Beth (Denninger) July 8, 2006. He was blessed to know the joy of being a grandparent to grandson, Collin Sirek and granddaughter, Teagan Sirek. Our Nick will be missed, grilling his famous BBQ chicken; his enthusiasm for sports; birds he fed faithfully; his sense of humor and loving Papa. He is survived by his wife, Beth Sirek-Zakrzewski; brother, Roger (Sandy) Zakrzewski; step-children, Mike Sirek and Nick Sirek; grandchildren, Collin and Teagan Sirek and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Ignacy and Constance Zakrzewski and sister, Virginia Stalock. Memorial visitation will be at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Owatonna on Saturday, February 8th from 8:00-11:00 AM . A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Owatonna with The Reverend Thomas Smith officiating. Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.
