Ione M. Shorter, 92, of Owatonna, formerly of Blooming Prairie, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Prairie Manor Care Center, Blooming Prairie. Ione was born November 13, 1917 in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota the daughter of Henry and Emelia (Moravec) Embrickson. She was raised in Blooming Prairie and attended school graduating from Blooming Prairie High School. Following she worked in a veterinarian clinic and later married Virgil Shorter on January 29, 1966 in Blooming Prairie. Thy moved to Owatonna. She is survived by a step daughter, Susan Shorter of Apple Valley; niece, Kay (and Harry) Rollings of Grafton, WI and their children, Jennifer and Joel Rollings. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, January 29, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Memorial services will be held Friday, January 29, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend John Weisenburger officiating. Interment will be in the Blooming Prairie Cemetery.
