Irene L. Rudolph, 87 died Saturday March 28 at the Owatonna Commons. Irene was born in Otisco Township, Waseca County on October 22, 1921 to John and Nina (Baker) Wood. She graduated from New Richland High School in 1938. Irene married Alfred E. Rudolph on October 7, 1942 at Trinity Lutheran Church of New Richland. She farmed with her husband in Havana Township until 1964 when they moved into town. She worked at the Owatonna Hospital until 1973, and then worked at Truth Hardware until 1987. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, and particularly her five great grandchildren, as they were her greatest joy in her life. Irene is survived by her son Bob (Sandy) Rudolph of Southern Pines, NC, daughter Marlane 'Marty' Andersen of Owatonna, grandson Nathan (Karla) Andersen of Rochester, MN and their children Lexy and Taylor, granddaughter Mindy (Eric) Wenger of Cologne, MN and their children Tyler, McKenna, and Mya. She is also survived by two sister in laws Adeline Wood of New Richland and Doris Wood of Owatonna, and one brother in law Harvey Krassin of Waseca. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband , two brothers, one sister, and a great granddaughter. Visitation will be Sunday April 5, 2009 from 1-5 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral service will be 10:30 Monday April 6, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church with Reverend Dave Klawiter officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. John Church, Owatonna Commons or the donor''s choice.
