Ivadelle 'Delle' E. Schwenke, 74, of Owatonna, died Friday, January 22, 2010 at Cedarview Care Center. She was born June 22, 1935 in Ellendale, Minnesota the daughter of Ivan and Esther (Brynsted) Hendrickson. Ivadelle was baptized into faith on September 22, 1935 and confirmed her faith on June 18, 1950 in First Lutheran Church, Ellendale. She was raised in Ellendale and there she attended school graduating from Ellendale High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Edward Schwenke on November 14, 1954 in First Lutheran Church, Ellendale. She worked at Josten's and also for the Owatonna Public School System. She also worked for Gopher Sport. Delle retired in 1992. She was an active member at St. John Lutheran Church Alter Guild, serving for 25 years. She also taught vacation bible school and was a substitute Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed cooking and baking, reading and spending time with her family and with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Edward Schwenke of Owatonna; two daughters, Diane (and Craig) Berndt of Owatonna and their children, Brandon, Bryce and Breanne; Nancy (and Michael) Berndt of Owatonna and their children, Dustin and Jenna; two brothers, Eugene (and Ardithe) Hendrickson of Richfield; Ellwood Hendrickson of Owatonna. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Laurel. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, January 25, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
