J. Ordean "High Pockets" Berg, 87, of Kenyon, Minnesota died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Faribault Care Center. He was born July 24, 1926 in Cherry Grove Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota the son of Magnus and Julia (Kvittem) Berg. He attended country school. Ordean helped his father on the family farm in addition to helping his neighbors. He continued farming with his father until his death in 1967. They sold the farm, and Ordean moved with his mother to Kenyon. He then drove truck for various farmers in the Faribault area. Ordean moved to Wanamingo, then Chicos Board and Lodge in West Concord. In August of 2013, he became a resident of the Faribault Care Center. He was a lifelong member of Dale Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing cards and sipping on green tea. He is survived by his two sisters, Ramona Nelson of Rochester, MN and Virginia Flaaen of Minneapolis, MN; nieces and nephews, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Magnus and Julia Berg. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Dale Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Dale Lutheran Church P.
