Jack Cleveland Morgan, 75, of Owatonna, died Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville. He was born October 25, 1943 in Cleveland, Mississippi, the son of Mike and Ruth (Gilbert) Morgan. As a young child, he moved with his family to Lake Village, Arkansas, where he grew up and attended school. He married Margaret Hawkins on January 19, 1963, and the couple had three children, Larry, Charles and Lora. The family moved to Owatonna in 1972, and Margaret died on October 8, 1973. Later on, Jack married Mary Klima and they had a son, Dana DJ and were divorced. Jack owned and operated Morgan & Associates selling life and health insurance in Owatonna. Jack started and was the leader of a country band called The Country Runabouts and entertained many people with his musical talents. In his free time, he enjoyed computer games and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. On February 6, 1990, Jack recovered from a hopeless state of mind and body known as alcoholism through the help of Bill W.'s friends, and remained sober until his death. He is survived by his children, Charles Morgan (and Jan) of Rochester, Lora (and Jeff) Miner of Savage and Dana DJ (and Michelle) Morgan of Owatonna; grandchildren, Ethan Witte of Minneapolis, Katie Morgan of Owatonna, Dakota Morgan and Matthew Morgan of New Castle, WY, Amandalynn Morgan, David Morgan and Abbigale Morgan of Owatonna, Laura Miner of Denver and Ian Miner of Savage; former spouse, Mary Ward of Kalispell, MT; daughter in law, Kristina Morgan of Owatonna; sister, Jeanette; brother, Joe and cousin, Minnie Pearl. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Morgan; son, Larry Morgan and a brother, George Morgan. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Friday, November 9, 2018, from 4-7pm. A private service will be held at a later date with interment in Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
