James Thomas Felstead, 74, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester. He was born December 12, 1940 in Winona the son of Robert and Gertrude (Mason) Felstead. James graduated from St. Charles High School before serving in the US Army from 1959-1962. He married Sharon Richter Nov. 3, 1962 in Lewisville. The couple moved to the Owatonna area in 1964. James worked for OMC for 32 years. While working for OMC James and his wife owned and operated the Wash O Matic Laundromat for 10 years from 1973-1983. In retirement, he worked as a security guard for various companies. James was a member of the American Legion and the Gospel of Life Family Church in Northfield. He went on several mission trips and volunteered at the Waseca prison as a part of the fellowship ministry. He enjoyed going for walks, camping and fishing with his family, cutting wood and coffee with his friends at HyVee. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Felstead of Owatonna; daughter, Cari (and Todd) Simonson of Waseca; sons, Scott (and Peggy) Felstead of Owatonna, Tony Felstead of Owatonna; brothers, Alan (and Julaine) Felstead, Lymon (and Carol) Felstead, Richard Felstead; sister, Margaret (and Melvin) Glover and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1sister and 3 brothers. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday from 10am to 11am. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 27, 2015 at 11am at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Roberts officiating.
