James F. Fox, 79, long time Madelia resident, died Sunday, October 30, 2011 in Owatonna. Jim was born February 21, 1932 in Wabasso the son of Fred and Esther (Short) Fox. He attended St. Annes Catholic School of Wabasso with the class of 1950. He married Arlene Evers May 6, 1954 at Christ Church near Comfrey. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952-56. He graduated from the Minnesota School of Business, Mankato State University and the Graduate School of Banking, University of Wisconsin. Jim worked at First National Bank, Mankato from 1956-61. He served as the President and CEO of Farmers State Bank in Madelia for 21 years. Jim owned and operated Jim Fox Real Estate. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Madelia, the Moose Club, and the American Legion. He served on the Madelia Hospital Board for over twenty years. Jim loved to golf, enjoyed reading and spending time with family. His quick wit and humor will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by daughters, Beverly (and Dale) Bowers of Owatonna, Belinda (and Dan) Hisey of Bellingham, WA, Barbie Marsh of Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Mike (and Alyssa) Bowers, Jeff (and Stephanie) Bowers, Aubrie Bowers, Ryan Brugger Hisey, Robert Hisey, Drew Hisey, Christie Marsh, Summer Marsh, Stacy Bolante; great grandchildren, Erika and Kendall Bowers; sister, Mary Lou Johanneck of Sumner, WA and nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; son, Dave Fox; brothers, Norbert, Raymond, Richard. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 2pm with a visitation held one hour prior to the service at Trinity Lutheran Church, Madelia with The Reverend Bruce Bringle officiating. Interment will be in the Madelia Riverside Cemetery in Madelia. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Madelia Hospital Foundation or Owatonna Homestead Hospice Patient Fund.
