James 'Jim' G. Ditlevson, 61, of Kenyon, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Kenyon Sunset Home. He was born November 5, 1947 in Faribault, the son of Gordon and Betty (Hildebrandt) Ditlevson. Jim was a 1966 graduate of Rosemead High School in Rosemead, California. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1966 and served overseas in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1968. After his military service, Jim worked for Foldcraft, as a welder, for 30 years. Jim married Jeannie Dugan on January 19, 2009 in Kenyon. He loved music, especially the blues, surfing and swimming in his younger years, blues festivals, the outdoors and all camping related activities, and his dogs and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a very caring and thoughtful person who had a big heart. He is survived by his spouse Jeannie Ditlevson of Kenyon; mother, Betty Lockert of Faribault; sister, Candace (and Dar Rodgers) Ditlevson of San Carlos, CA, step-children, Steven (and Dyana) LaMotte of Owatonna and Tammy Akeman of Waterville; step-grandchildren, Derrick, Tony and Julianna LaMotte, Nathan Thorsen, Sierra Akeman, Joey and Maija Bauer; step-great-granddaughter, Faith Thorsen; special God-Child Sarah Dugan; aunt, Lois Stenbakken of Faribault; cousins, Lyle, Tommy, Bill, Christine, Randy, Marlys, Jon, Eric, and Lori; brothers in law, Don (and Janis) Dugan, Dennis (and Joyce) Dugan, Larry (and Cheryl) Dugan; sisters in law, Teresa Wayne, Joanne (and Mike) Odette, Debra (and Tom) Randgaard, Darlene Pumper, Robin (and Ross) Dugan, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins on the Dugan side. Jim was preceded in death by his father Gordon. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home Kenyon on Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 10-11 AM . Funeral services will be held January 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home Kenyon with Pastor Byron Meline officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The American Cancer Society or the choice of the donor.
